During the winter period, coats are essential to keep warm. When buying a coat, there are certain criteria that must be taken into account in order to avoid making the wrong choice. Read on to find out what these criteria are. 

Winter coats: what are the criteria for choosing them ?

The very first criterion to take into account is the fabric that has been used to design the coat. Since it is an item of clothing that should keep you warm, you should choose a coat that has a good quality fabric. More description in the next line. Coats made of wool are for example made of natural sheepskin fibre and are therefore the best.  Secondly, you should choose a coat that has down and feathers, as it is light, soft, supple, and also comfortable. Furthermore, you should choose a coat that has cashmere wool. This is a luxury material par excellence. Finally, before paying for a coat, check the quality of its fur.

What is the difference between a coat and a jacket ?

Although coats and jackets can all be worn over other clothing, there is a difference between the two. The coat and the jacket are both long-sleeved garments. However, the jacket covers the upper parts of the body and opens in the front with a button closure. The other most notable difference between the two is that the coat is longer than the jacket and can be worn over the jacket. On the other hand, it should be noted that there are several types of coat, including the pea coat, the oilskin coat, the duffle coat, the parka coat and many others. On the other hand, the jacket is a set of which for women is a shaped jacket with a skirt and a suit and for men a shaped jacket with trousers and a suit.
